i love ians vivarium but i think there could be one more thing added to it. wen u look at the pics of the morphs don't you think it would be nice to see pics of motley stripe corns. you have normal pattern, motley pattern, stripe pattern, eye, and ventral. i think it would be nice for some motley stripe pics on it. do you agree.

i love them because of it, the stripe down there back are not to thin like a normal stripe. your ghost motley was stunning. the stripe only really broke up once, loved that bit of him.

thats a motley ;) if you want a fancy label for it, it's 'Q tip motley'

unless you know for definate that its also het stripe, then you shouldn't use 'stripe' as well because it gets very misleading.

Manuel from faulty towers eeji...

The way I understand it...and this could be wrong...is motleys were selective bred to create visual stripes, but these are not genetic. The main way to tell is that if it is a motley (visual) stripe the stripe will join at some point, where as a genetic stripe may stop and start but will never join. You can also tell the motely stripe by the stripe having the motely cubes in it.

Here is a pic of my ghost motley/stripe...

Because there are now two recessive morphed genes at the locus, it becomes visual.

Motley is recessive to normal
Stripe is recessive to normal
Motley is dominant to stripe

so it would look like a motley

Cheers, I didnt know that

Hey Eeji, can you go through that again (corn morphs arnt my thing!)?

Surely motley is reccesive to the normal pattern so a visual Motley Het Stripe would have to be Homozygous Motley Het Stripe?

Do you mind!!! I have a beer soaked keyboard now!!!

a lot more eloquently said than my response eeji lol

whats your defininition of 'motley/stripe' ?

to me its one huge misconception. A corn is either motley or stripe. Yes its true that motley especially is highly variable up to the point of very closely resembling stripe but at the end of the day, its still motley.
motley het stripe (more acurrately its het motley het stripe) will still look motley. The stripe part may or may not have any effect on the pattern, and the pattern certainly can't be used to determine if a visual motley is het stripe or not.

PLUS! you try finding stripey motley photos of all 113 currently listed morphs (AND secure permission to use them!)

BUT! there is a bit of a work around for this - anyone can upload photos now, so eventually the pics you'd like to see will all be added by their owners :D

The feedback about IV is most appreciated, (both good and bad so keep it coming!) so the site can only improve for the future :)

motley stripe doesn't really exist for me, it's one or the other i'm afraid............
