Posted - 20/12/2009 : 19:25:31 set the stat at 31* IMO as it will be a lil cooler in the viv, due to heat passing..
What kinda viv you got? Drill a hole in the backboard of your viv if its wooden and ram the probe of the thermometer through so its rests on the surface of the substrate in the warm end.
But it sounds like a dial, which are notorious for being off, by at least 5 degrees which could fry your snake if you take readings of it. digi aquarium ones, ebay them. only about £4 with postage and are more accurate.
If theyr'e on the side of the viv they measure the air temp, you need to know the surface temp which is where your corn will get its heat from. If you can't get a digi, throw it on the surface of the substrate in the warm end.

glad to hear some one has brought a starter kit with a thermostat. it should be set to around 30c and you will need a digi thermometer to calibrate it have a read of this care sheet |
