Hey i was just wanted peoples opinion on what i should be feeding my monty and how often. the woman i got her from was feeding him a pinkie once a week, i have switched it to every 5 days but iv only fed him twice because i have not had him long, should i be attempting to feed him 2 pinkies every week or is he getting enough now... i added a pic so you could see is size. i just want to make sure he has the best.

I just weighed monty and he is 16g. so i am going to feed him 2 pinks every 6 days. thanks again guys. |

from the info provided, i'd try 2 pinkies per feed until she's regularly taking 2 (when you first move them up to two food items there may be weeks when only one is actually taken). initially as you increase the meal size increase the number of days between feeds too to 7 days then work back down to every 5 days.
then if all is going well try a small fuzzy providing it's not more than 1.5 times the width of her at the widest point of her body, again increase the number of days between feeds initially then work back down to 'normal' again  |

I must admit that I totally agree with GP (obviously  ). You cannot just guess about this sort of thing...you need to work out what Monty needs. Weigh him is the 1st priority and tell us his age.
This is a guide to feeding:
- Single pinks (2-3g), every 5-6 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 6-7 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (20-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+)
But you must be careful how you up their feed and make sure you do it slowly enough for Monty to adapt.

i have not wieghed him yet and as for legnth, im going to assume a foot and a half. and age... wouldnt no. the lady in the shop i bought him from knew next to nothing about him, first off she told me he was a red albino, which is clearly wrong, he is a ghost. she got him a week earlier with hardly any paperwork. I will weigh him tomorrow, he just fed and i dont wanna disturb him now. Franctly im not the type to buy an animal, especially a snake without knowing a background, but i fell in love with monty the moment i saw him. |

I wouldnt go from 1 pinkie to fuzzy? Thats quite a jump isnt it?
Try 2 pinkies.
I was advised to try stella on 2 pinkies for a couple of months before fuzzies. Ive got 16 Pinkies in the freezer, so 8 feeds worth. After that i will see what she makes of a fuzzy!
