how much does everyone pay for their mice? I've noticed prices seem to have shot through the roof just lately in the shops

I breed my own mice now so don't have to buy many each month luckily as my local pet shop is very pricey :(

I will be buying rats soon for the boas so will order any mice I need at the same time from TSM whose prices and quality seem to be very good :)

oh i wanna move to england - those are so cheap.
i live in waterford/Ireland and i pay 1:40 (Euro) for a fuzzie.
they arent that great, slightly fatter than a pinky. then the next size up is a medium mouse 3 times bigger.

i would buy online if i could but i cant find anywhere that deliveres in Ireland.

Yeah, I go in for a chat with the staff, and a cuddle with the adult Carolina Corn they have, he loves being out, and in particular he seems to adore me! I so would buy him if I could! He's a darling! He doesn't even fuss when he's in blue, much like my Lister!

place in stafford does good priced mice,
25p per Pinkie
35p per fluff/fuzzie
50p per half grown, small mouse
65p per medium mouse
80p per large mouse (they are really big!)
1.00 per small rat
1.50 per large rat

quite good i think :)

The best is if I order over £25 I get free delivery , which is always the case , so they work out a lot cheaper .

BurnedAtTheStake , I think that may be wrong or the best price in the world :) "£1.25 for 11 Medium"

Ohhh ... my damn maths letting me down again!!

Yes, I meant £12.50 ...

Umm... well ...

£5 for 10 pinkies
£6 for 10 fuzzies
£10 for 11 small mice
£1.25 for 11 Medium

BUT. The shop where I get them (in West Yorks) sells snakes, so I know the mice haven't been sitting in the freezer for ages. When defrosted they are excellent quality, and often tend towards a good size - some of the pinkies and fuzzies can be nearly as big as next size up.

During the big freeze I couldn't get to this shop and had to go to a (small and friendly) pet supermarket nearby. Pinkies 40p each. Well... they'd been in the freezer a good while, I reckon (not the staff's fault) and even my chief Gannet took one look and said 'eewww!'

If I had the space I'd breed my own and prekill.

Haven't got freezer space either - I used to have two spare freezers in the cellar but they went in the floods.Daren't have new ones in that cellar now, otherwise I'd bulk-buy, but have heard bad reports of some bulk delivered mice.

So ... I reckon I'll carry on as I am. My local rep shop is okay and at least I'm giving it some custom.

But yes, costing out a meal,it's cheaper to feed me than the snakes!

I shouldn't think any of us begrudge them it though!

50p for my fuzzies today, I'm sure I'm being ripped off.

40p-pinky 60p-fuzzy 70p-small mice but noticed a sign in my LRS 10 rat pups £5
hillzi Posted - 24/07/2010 : 17:53:19
I found a better mice stockist, my other reptile shop, 85p per medium, so thats where I'll be going from now on.

Ok, so they aren't as meaty as the other mice, but my snakes wont be bothered I'm sure.

Where i am in kent i pay 60p for small mice and 80p for mediums,
There is a supplier further away who is cheaper, but not when you add in petrol and the time to get there and back!

ash and princess are a couple..just like to confuse us..

if they are being ordered in specially surely they should be more expensive - ie special orders that the shop wouldnt necessarily make?
