Posted - 27/11/2009 : 21:56:12 I use poster paints designed for children as they have low odour/voc then varnish with a low voc varnish. Remember the low voc varnish usually takes longer to go off properly and become water proof. |

Posted - 27/11/2009 : 19:32:31 you could paint it and then cover it with a clear plastic - like the sticky sheeting, but obviously make sure it's properly stuck down and cant come unstuck perhaps x |

Posted - 26/11/2009 : 22:52:58 cheers for the info. i will have to wait until my hubby has set his viv up so i can move my snake while i do the painting, dont worry his snake is to small for the big viv. so it wont be shareing with ne other snake. |

Posted - 26/11/2009 : 22:11:25 Any paint, as long as you give it a good few coats of varnish (nothing that says mould resistant) on top and leave if for a week or so to let any fumes dissipate.
This is my mate Iggy viv painted by his very clever Neice. I love it!

Posted - 26/11/2009 : 21:14:37 basically you've got a choice between gloss or emulsion........and if emulsion gets wet it'll rub off.
like hillzi suggested - some aquarium background glued in place? |

Posted - 26/11/2009 : 21:11:46 If your'e going to paint one, may I suggest you could buy a sheet of plastic with a good rainforesty look on it? I think paint maybe too toxic to use.. But im not good at D.I.Y nor art, so can't comment. |

household gloss but make sure you leave several days for the fumes/toxins to dissipate. |

Posted - 26/11/2009 : 20:32:17 it is a wooden one, so it will be on the inside. |

Posted - 26/11/2009 : 19:34:10 is it to go inside the viv or outside a glass one? |
