Posted - 24/11/2009 : 20:41:11 Hi there,
Was having a general wondering and thought I'd ask you knowledgable people. I have a snake called Lucious who we got when he/she was 12 days old(he/she is now almost 2 years). We noticed when we got her that her underside and side in the middle of her body look slightly squished. He/she handled and ate fine so we put it down to her uniqueness. As she has grown it is obviously more noticeable.
We have noticed this on other snakes, but not all (but then again we don't get to visit and handle snakes other than the pet shop!).
Is this something that is common, part of all snakes anatomy, or something we should be concerned about... any help would be great, thanks x Sorry about all the he/she stuff, I call her a her as she's too pretty to be a boy (no offence boys!) but my boyfriend calls her a him, as that what it looks like she is! |

Posted - 24/11/2009 : 21:39:46 sounds like she might have had some broken ribs at some point but if she's eating and its passing through normally and she's not sensitive around the flattened are then it's of no detriment to her IMO |

That's what we thought, she seems happy enough and scales are all intact etc, which is why we haven't sort advice before. Have tried to photograph but you can't really see it on the pics.
Just part of her charm, thanks x |

from what you describe though, i don't think its much to worry about if its been there all the time and he/she is otherwise healthy :) |
