Acorn's pretty much always under her water bowl from about the 2nd/3rd after a feed and stays there until she is next fed.
I think she just prefers it there than any of the other hides I've tried giving her in the cold end.
I do try to make sure the bottom of the bowl is kept dry though.

most of mine do it at some point

how are you heating the enclosure? and what are the temps like? if there's not definite hot and cold ends he might be trying to find somewhere to cool down?

other than that i agree with eeji, i provide some of mine with big plastic dog water bowls so they can use that as another hide....
eeji Posted - 28/10/2009 : 20:51:49
its just another hiding place

What other hides does she have in there? What are the temps in both ends and how are you monitoring them? (Two possibilities that come to mind is that she may be trying to find a cooler spot or a better hide, or both.)

Btw, Stella here, although she loves her cool hide, can sometimes be found right under the substrate. That is, IF she can be found, because one she goes under she can be quite tricky to locate. So it's possible everything is perfectly right in the viv but your snakey likes that spot for no obvious reason.
