Posted - 30/09/2009 : 19:47:48 We have a microclimate mat, and it requires 5mm of space between the viv and mat. |

Posted - 30/09/2009 : 19:43:20 some heatmats do require a flow of air inbetween them and the glass and if there isnt one then it can crack.. i forget which particular make it is though...
but as Kehhlyr says as long as theres a stat it shouldnt happen |

Posted - 30/09/2009 : 18:02:49 A mat should only be able to crack the glass if:
- The mat develops a fault and overheats
- The glass goes from hot to cold very quickly
But a mat should never overheat, providing there is a stat installed with it. |

Posted - 30/09/2009 : 17:04:05 I don`t think it can , i`ve had tobasco for about 6 months , and i keep the heat mat pushed up agaisnt the glass + it never happened to me (not as far as i know anyway lol) , so i wouldn`t worry. |
