My local B&Q (Cortonwood, Barnsley) has got bags of Sphagnum Moss on the clearance shelves for £1.72 a bag. Unfortunately I didn't look closely enough to see exactly how big the bags were but they were with the hanging baskets so I guess one bag would be enough to dress a normal sized hanging basket.

I've never used Sphagnum moss so can't say if it looked any good but it might be worth checking out at your local B&Q if you do use it.

I split into smaller bags, then squash 'em into the freezer.
When needed, defrost with boiling water.

Ditto here, its great and really efficient. They're used for humid boxes to help a snake shed. I also use it for my gecko.

Thanks Janos.
