Ok, thanks! Scales, box, log. All noted and will come into use. At the moment still counting the first week so hands off snakey, only lots of entertainment watching him explore when it's dark.

That will be called the Tare funcion in case you look for it. Its a good idea saves messing about weighing stuff and then having to subtract from snakes weight

I find easiest way is to use digi scales, weigh a cardboard box, put snake in box and then deduct weight of box. Dont think Kellog would stay still long enough in a pillow case! Try and weigh him weekly, but its never that regular as you have to work around feeds and sheds. I keep a 'Kellog Log' - noting weight, length, date of feed, date of sheds, date of cleaning viv and a health section. Very helpful and may be necessary if any problems happen. xxx

I like the scales and I think I'll combine it with the other advice: into the cloth bag he will go, onto the scales, and then the difficult math of deducting bag weight from overall weight

pic was taken a while ago - he`s now a little under 3 foot and weighs 287g (two days after feed) but he still fits in there, i can even put him on the floor straight for measureing, so lazy sometimes
*and those scale were from argos around 12-15 quid or so

Digi scales, you can pck some up from argos for about a tenner.

mine are large (five and a half, and three and a half feet) so they go in a pillowcase in a box on the scales- no bits dangle over the side that way.

I weigh the pillow case on its own, then put the snake in and weigh it, Minus the weight of the pillow case, there is your weight!

Just put them on a set of digital scales, usually kithen scales. Here is a link regarding uploading pics
