I looked Yesterday and saw that Bud has blue eyes so will be shedding soon and when i went to get him out he was rattling his tail and was angry, so i left it, is that normal before shedding?

replace the dial therms with digi ones, dial ones are pants, not accurate at all. glass vivs are fine with the mat outside the viv, and as corns only need room humidity I wouldnt worry about upsetting the reading for the humidity setting. If your snake burrows alot in the substrate then its ok to have the probes under the substrate, but if it doesnt burrow put them on the top of it as that is were your corn will be most of the time.

yer, so lay the digi thermometer and the stat probe next to each other in the middle and under the substrate. does this matter if i have a glass viv and the mat is out side under the glass. and my digi thermometer is a humidity one as well there together (combi), does that matter if i put that under the substrate as well, but i do have two dial thermoters as well at each side of the tank sitting on top of the substrate thanks

do you mean the probe for the digi thermometer? that and the probe for the stat need to go side by side ideally, on top of or just under the substrate, in the center of the heatmat. get them set up asap as an unregulated mat can cause awful injuries to your snake!

not long - 1-2 weeks from blue to shed, it varies between snakes
n/a Posted - 19/08/2009 : 22:04:57
does it take long now for it to shed

Its best to leave them when their eyes are blue as they are almost blind and will go on the defensive, and yes it is normal.
