I hear and have read plenty of books to know that there are many forms of bedding for cornsnakes. Personally I use wood chips,tiny little squares of wood especially for reptiles. But I hear everyone uses aspen, I thought the pieces look too sharpe and that she would do herself an injury. Is it better? And cheaper? |

Just started using Aspen, originally used wood chip noodle seems to love burrowing in the Aspen :) |

I'm using orchid bark and have done for 10 years. I've only just found out that its not really recommended for corns but it hasn't caused a problem so far. I might try some aspen though, just for a change. |

oh and i also have kitchen towel underneath the paper.. i dont know why but i put some new kitchen towel down after cleaning the viv out and then put shredded paper in it.. doh! |

Bella is in aspen shavings. She loves to burrow; I really like the look of the chippings but if she couldn't burrow I think her little heart would break. |

I use aspen bedding, snakes love it, i get mine from 888reptiles. Cost me about £27 with the p&p and with last me about 5 months, so well worth the price. |

i got a free bag of aspen with the viv but am now using shredded paper.. mont isnt into burrowing but i figured ive got all this spare shredded stuff so may as well use it..
it will go in the fauns aswell for my newbies.. they might be more into burrowing than mont is  |

I also use hemp, it's very similar to aspen. Bought a huge sack that'll probably last me a year. |

I use beech chips for my royal and hemp for my corns, 20K bale cost £30 |

all mine older than 6 months are on aubiose hemp - less than a tenner for a mahoosive bale ;)
babies are kept on kitchen roll |

I use a mix of beech and aspen.
when I got my corn it had a whole floor of beech chippings, so when I cleaned him out I stuck a load in the cool end for it to burrow in and I'd never seen an active snake like it'd never burrowed before, for about 40 minutes.
I use beech thinly in the warm end and aspen in cool end. beech chips are indeed harder and aspen is soft and cosy. for a snake at least. |

i use kitchen roll, probably more expensive than aspen when it gets soiled... but i can see anything that should not be in there using this, such as mites... |
