Now I have been told so many ways which I have tried but still am not sure which is best. I used to put the mouse in a plastic sandwich bag and leave out on side for a few hours, then I would warm it up by popping it in my bra. Then I went to a nearby reptile shop who said to emerse it in warm water to defrost. Nowadays I have been defrosted them in a plastic tupperware box with some calcuim powder on. Is there a right or wrong way of defrosting? Or is it up to how you want to

flies are the bane of my life atm- we are currently plagued with them at work. I dont see why they have to try and get to your brain by flying in your ears and nostrils...

Mhmm, one minute was eating fine then pop. He looked dumbstruck as he was covered in blood and entrails and then the idea hit him that mice were everywhere!

Also cover up your mouse as in this weather a fly is bound to get at it and lay eggs on it. I had to waste a good fluff coz of a certain fat sodding bluebottle.

Wasn't pretty which is why you DON'T use boiling water, the mouse pops.

Snakey got covered in blood an tried to eat his own nose which I was incredibly amused at.

With a belly full of a half a mouse and blood all over his face, I did take the decison(sp) to quickly bathe it off. He must have a stomach of steel not to have regurged and he got a decent non-popped meal within 5 days

Gross!!

Have changed way I defrost. Now take out mouse night before and put it in sterilzed plastic tub with lid, leave it overnight and feed sometime during following day. Kellog doesnt seem bothered about it being warmed up. From a non-eating snake he has gone to an eat-anything snake! xxx

My way on a feeding day i get the mice out about 11am, then leave them till about 4-5, then put them in a tub of warm water for 10 mins, and up to now all is good.

I put mine in an old margarine tub with the lid on over night, then when I get home I feed them to the snakes.

I used to just put mine dry into a tupperware box and leave it to defrost. but with the lid on then it gets nice and warm and smelly for snakie

I put mine in an old dis-used mug, and put a bag on it.

I then warm it up in WARM water or use hair drier to stimulate snakey :)

Everyone defrosts in different ways on here (not heard of the bra before, think thats a first lol). I put mine in a sandwhich bag and put it in hot water, only takes a few minutes that way.

different people do it different ways.. i usually leave it in a tub near a window if the sun is shining or put it in some hot water.. they dont take long to defrost so i usually leave mine out for an hour or so..
