In order to get Monty to constrict he has to have warm food. If I defrost a mouse in air he just bites, retreats back and then swallows it. If I defrost it on a radiator he constricts it.

I've never done the dangly thing, or tried to make the food move before he strikes.

some constrict, some dont, it doesnt really depend on age.

Thats what i am trying now. Did it sunday and Tynan let go and backed off, dont think he was expecting it but will do it for longer this sunday.

Try not letting go too soon. Matilda used to do the grab and retreat thing all the time until I didn't let go one day. If s/he thinks that it's still alive once s/he's bitten down then s/he should start throwing a few coils around it.

I do that and they still dont strike or constrict. I am going to make it harder for them to try and get them to do it.

it doesnt set in at an age. its just one of those things that your corn will do on its own accord

some will do it from their first ever feed, and others will never do it. It all depends on the individual
