I was wondering... I know it's early, but Twid has been roaming his viv madly, since around 1st of January....

He's out and about day and night, maybe taking a short nap around mid day, but then, by mid afternoon, continuing to cruise again. When I open the viv, he's out on my hand, sniffs around, and then glues himself to Bazilishka's viv door. And there he stays, and refuses to move...

He's eating ok, still.

Anybody's else's snake decided breeding season has stared?

My Diego is also going mad! Trying to escape, drinking all his water, banging his head against the glass! Thing is not sure if he is a boy or a girl, never had him sexed?

Mine are all on the lookout for some loving.

My female amel has just started patrolling her viv like a marauding man eater
She's filling the water bowl with substrate, tail rattling when I go near her, then trying desperately to escape when I pull her out.

Perhaps it's time that I succomed and pop a boy in with her!

Problem is I don't know whether I could find homes for the resulting hatchlings as I don't have space to keep them permanately myself.

Yeah silly season has started for one of mine have had to change his water 4 times today as he keeps filling it up with aspen. I have been up since 6 this morning and he hasn't stopped banging about. Looks like the fun has started lol.

The first time is happeņed it was a total shock because we'd had her probed and were told she was a male. She missed the next year and I hoped she wouldn't lay again but she did the following year and has done each year since. I think last year was her 4th time.

As far as I can work out it isn't common for females to lay slugs so I wouldn't worry about Baz too much.

It's weird because I couldn't feel the slugs until literally a few days before she lay them. Usually she does a pre-lay shed but there was one year she laid before she shed.

Oh no, poor Silvi, does it happen every single year? I'm wondering if this is gong to happen to Baz one day, she has a weird shape to her, almost triangular, but she is a very good weight. Can you feel the slugs in her, before it happens?

As I type Asher is going up and down the edge of the glass door trying to escape. He's also started messing around with his food and will only eat if I put him in a shoebox and leave him. This will be the first year that he's done this but I'm an old hand because Kellog has done it since the day I got him. Problem is it makes me think ahead to April and whether Silvi is going to lay slugs again .

Oh god I hope not. Diego broke out of his viv yesterday, it's currently a home made affair with a perspex front and he literally cracked it in two. He's never tried before, I wonder if he was hunting for snake ladies...he seems to be sulking now so I guess I shall see...
