Hey guys,

My new Lil tailless girl - who we've now names Venus - got fed for the second time yesterday...

First time went without a hitch, struck and constricted and generally behaved like a normal, sane corn snake.

This time however, she struck at the mouse with her mouth shut... Repeatedly... Literally nose butting her food... The second mouse... Exactly the same.

Is this normal or is she having problems dislocating her jaw or what?

Haha okay thanks guys, was just very odd to watch her strike and do nothing at all but nose butt it. She's all in blue now.. Will be first shed in a couple days since I had her... Will have to see how her tail fares

Mine do this quite a lot. It's as though they're examing the food closely, nuzzling it to check for quality .

Xxx

Bangle does that now and again and when I get to thinking he's not interested he scares the proverbial .... out of me when dives at it and coils like mad. I think he is just trying to age me very quickly lol

Naw, mine do this too. Not sure why, maybe seeing if it's dead or not. I give it a wiggle and they tend to bite eventually. Luna is the worst for just poking at food, I usually get bored and leave it for her, she eats in her own time.
