Colin's home is due its first monthly full substrate removal, full clean and disinfection as per the Care Sheet guidelines. As everything will be cleaned, disinfected and replaced, therefore no longer smelling like either Colin or myself, will Colin feel like he has been moved to a new home? If this is the case, would I need to folow the 7 day no handling guidelines, so that he settles into his clean smelling, fresh substrate filled home?

Thanks for the advice. Colin pooped on the wife last night, so seeing as he has had a clear out, I will do a complete clean/disinfect today, so as to avoid him soiling his clean home.

Last time I did a full viv clean, Wheels was a bit shy the next time I went to get him, but once out he was his normal self again. Don't even know if it was related as he can be a bit changeable in his moods - always lovely and friendly but sometimes less keen to socialise than at other times. Guess I'm the same though

Oh, and Wheels likes to poop in his clean smelling, fresh substrate so it probably smells like his home again quite quickly

It will be perfectly fine, you don't have to do the 7 day no handling.. he is in the same place, same smells and sounds everywhere around him, just a clean substrate... it will give him something new to smell :-)

Just make sure you use reptile safe disinfectant, and rinse everything well, just in case.
