Weighed dave today before I fed him and in 3 weeks hes put on 8g previous to this he was putting on between 12-16 g fortnightly so worried he was putting on to much weight ive been having him out on the floor for longer to exercise him. So hes now 102 g and just shed also. Plus I noticed this time there wadnt much of a bulge left by the mouse I mean there was one but only just, he's on small mice currently so maybe due the next size up? Sorry long post and thanks xx

That's not much different to Storm's weight gain on mice that size, which is why I changed his feeds to every 6 days rather than weekly. Was struggling to get the upper weight of small mice. There isn't any major rush and as long as Dave is putting on weight then that's all that really matters .

The mice weigh 9-10 g (frozen) he's got two more left so I'll give him them weigh him in a fortnight and see how he goes but he probably just needs slightly bigger mice now x

At that weight and being so young I wouldn't worry about him putting on too much weight. The time to start being aware of their weight is when they get to the 700/800g mark, so he's got a way to go .

The slightly less weight gain may be because he's had a shed in between the 2 feeds, which will have used up energy. It also may be that your last small mouse was quite small, if you know what I mean . I'm having an issue with Storm in that all the small mice I've got are around 10/11g, so I've actually moved his feeds to every 6 days rather than weekly until I get some bigger small mice.

I wouldn't be too worried. If there is barely a bump after he's eaten then maybe see if you can get some small mediums and try him on those. As long as they aren't more than 1.5 times wider than his widest part he'll be fine .
