I posted some photos of our new Corn on facebook andthanks for all the great comments.
Tigger has now been in his new home for 3 days with Day 1 seeing him safely tucked away in various hides.
I expected him to hide away for a good few days but yesterday he was out and about exploring and has really spent limited time in his hides.
My question really is what is normal suspected behaviour ? I'm guessing there probably isn't and each snake is different.

What everyone has said is right Jason, all snakes differ and Tigger is also settling in and exploring his new environment, so his behaviour may change over time. I think I'm right in saying that you've got a heatmat, controlled by a thermostat and monitored by a digital thermometer. What are the warm end temps? That is one thing that might make him restless, if the temps aren't right.
He really is goegeous and I'm so glad you've been able to offer him a good home  . I bet your daughter can't wait for the week settling-in period is over  . It would be great if you could post some pics on here too because not everyone is on Facebook and I'm sure they'd love to see him....and your very happy daughter  .

Don't worry, it's absolutely normal behaviour, they are all different, and they all have different personalities. One of mine hides all the time, whilst the newbie I re homed is constantly roaming, even day after feed. The only time he stops is in the first 24 h after feeding, and when in blue.
Tigger is probably just a confident and curious snake :-) |

I can only go by my Tekka which I haven't had long and bought grown and my daughters which she got as hatchlings ages ago, but even in those three I can say there was a lot of difference. The daughters first snake was out and about so much I thought it was claustrophobic and didn't like its hides! You open the doors and she's there waiting to come out, her other snake as an hatchling hid a lot and took ages to settle enough to be seen out and about. My Tekka is taking it slow, she is really calm when out of her viv but in it she is usually under cover but between the two of us her hiding skills are pretty bad! |
