Ok I've not my snake yet but want to have everything in and running before I even start looking I'm currently deciding over vivarium sizes I was thinking rub now I'm thinking 24 inch. I want a baby snake and I know they get freaked by large enclosures but would I get away with 24inch if I filled it with hides and plants ect ??? Hmmm I want What's best for snakey x Thanks in advance |

Thank you redware I understand what you're saying and I want my snake to happy even if it means me spending an hour trying to find it. Being new to this you read so much it can get confusing but I won't get a snake till I know what I'm doing properly so many more questions to come x Sorry :-) |

Hi Luna,
When getting the rub, just consider the fact that corns are agoraphobic, they actively like smaller spaces! For a new hatching a 5 liter rub would be perfectly fine. The Fauns are also good and are quite cheep too, my two hatchling from this year are about 5 months now and both are in medium Exo Terra flat fauns, (14 inch long) and are doing really well and putting on good weight. You can pick these up for under £10. Bigger isn't always better here. if you do get bigger Rubs as you have said LOTS of cover is vital so that your snake doesn't get stressed, even if this obscures your viewing!

Razee what size rub would I need ive seen one that's 9l and about 15.5 inches long would that be too small? |

Yeah I was planning on putting in 3 hides and loads of foliage this one is the monkfield 24 inch |

It's up to you, but bear in mind that vivs are quite a bit more expensive than RUBs or faunarium, and the snakey will outgrow the 24 inch viv - so you will end up having to buy another, bigger one. If you get an RUB, you can then use it later as a transport or feeding box for your adult snake. |

as long as there are pleeeeenty of hides, folliage etc you should be ok. i know ALOT of folk start off with fauns or r.u.b's for hatchies. i myself went for the monkfield 18inch terrainium fo my littlests :) |
