Posted - 03/10/2013 : 22:43:57 More of an observation than a question but it seems a bit weird- I've noticed that Boris strikes and constricts brown or agouti coloured mice but doesn't with white mice, which he always eats but quite halfheartedly- he's been on smalls for his last 6 feeds and I had a mixture of white and coloured mice when I bought them from a local reptile store. Is it just coincidence or do they really prefer a specific coloured mouse?! |

Thanks, that's encouraging :) Guess I'll just have to wait and see; he's getting the last of the white mice today, which also happens to be particularly tiny for some reason, so hopefully he'll be good and hungry by next week and won't be too fussy :) |

Posted - 06/10/2013 : 09:13:25 I'm a little concerned that I'll face this problem soon; as far as I'm aware my boy has only ever had the white P@H mice, but I recently found a little local rep shop and got ten agouti mice from them... Hope he doesn't turn his nose up! |

Posted - 06/10/2013 : 00:49:12 My boy is fine, eats anything put in front of him lol. My girl, however, is funny lol. if they are shop bought mice she'll only eat white(pure white) but if they are homebred(which I get from my friend when she has excess that she can't sell) she'll eat any colour lol. |

Posted - 04/10/2013 : 14:52:24 Mine won't eat white rats/mice, got to be dark coloured or black. He will eat chicks though, which are yellow! Strange quirks they have! |

Moppet |
Posted - 03/10/2013 : 23:50:04 It's quite common for corns to prefer either light or dark mice. Some snakes even refuse to eat one or the other which can worry owners. |
