When getting frozen mice at my local P@H I noticed toys made out of grass that I thought snakes might like as hides. Any comments on suitability?

I did study them and neither had metal or glue in them.

I wouldn't use them. Looking at the way they are woven together, if there was a weak spot a snake could wiggle its head through it could very well get caught and stuck.

I agree with the aboth post, I would also rather be safe than sorry lol just because I worry to much even though in the wild they could come across worse things...

Have seen pics posted on here, the snakes love them, i would worry about them being sharp near eyes, but not heard of any problems.

i often wonder about this, i dont buy things that i think she might scratch herself on. but then i think, in the wild, everything is scratchy, maybe i dont give her hardiness enough credit?

who knows. i still err on the side of caution in the end.

I do think i can be over cautious, but like you would rather that was safe than sorry

They are designed for mice etc who don't have scales over their eyes, so that being said they should be fine for snakes.

They look pretty cool.
I appreciate the thoughts of them being sharp etc but out in the wild there are plenty of sharp things. I can't see sea grass being overly sharp to be fair.

I was thinking of getting one for peri but worried about the grassy bits getting caught on her
