Hope you find him/her. We had a string of escapes at work and all were found in the same room as the Vivs, don't rule any thing out as 'no the snake can't be in there' we lost the snow at work after someone didn't shut the Viv properly i spent a week turning the place upside down trying to find him, then one day he stuck his head out from the door frame he's got in to the small gap there I'd been walking past him all week!

First things first. Keep calm. The more u panic the less attention ull pay To finding it. It wont be far normally withing 24 hrs their still in the same room they escaped in. I used that thread to find mine. But u need to stay calm coz ull move things quickly and could end up actually picking snakie up and throwing the lil bugger across the room

Sorry to hear that, but, like Moppet says, many snakes do turn up, sooner or later. So, above all - don't loose hope.

Try to think like a snake - where would you go? They like somewhere safe, dark, and quite small, so that only themselves fit in. Did you have shoes on the floor? Clothes? What about the underside of the bed? Start searching from the viv outwards, and concentrate around the area, where you've seen the trail.

You can set up traps - and not just the bottle traps with mice, you could make sure, there are lots of things on the floor, around the walls of the room, where the snake would love to hide...

You can leave lots of plastic bags around, and then stay up at night, in the dark ( but with a torch ready ), and listen for any rustling...

Check all your clothes, before putting them into washing machine...

Anyway, that's just some ideas. Hope you find him soon, good luck, and don't give up.

Oh no, sorry to hear that. There's a thread on what to do when a snake escapes. http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12170

It does seem like the majority of escaped snakes are found safe and sound, sometimes quickly, sometimes months later. Good luck
