Posted - 16/08/2013 : 10:33:37 It's pretty standard on most bottled water that it will say to refrigerate after opening - so that's what I would do. Store in a cupboard or whatever until opened, then just store that one bottle in the fridge :) |

Posted - 16/08/2013 : 08:44:25 I don't think there's much risk of contamination really - it should have been sterile when you got it from the shop, assuming the seal on the cap wasn't broken, and so long as you replace the lid quickly once you're done pouring and put it back in the fridge you should be fine. Although I personally change my corn's water every day some people leave it two-three days, during which the water is open to the elements, and their snakes are fine, so the few minutes it's open while you pour shouldn't hurt :)
On the other hand, if it was worrying you... I assume if your tap water is so bad you and your family have your own supply of drinking water - couldn't he just share that? For the most part, if water is safe for humans, it's safe for corns :) |

Posted - 15/08/2013 : 22:33:28 um, it was refrigerated in the shop and put in the fridge when i got home 5 minutes later. i change the water in the morning so would assume it would be viv temp by the afternoon/evening,no i don't shake it, but the walk from the kitchen to the viv it does get swished around.my thought on contamination was the airborne type eg dust or what ever is in the air as this time of year we have our windows open most of the time and the water could become contaminated after opening |

Posted - 15/08/2013 : 20:49:57 um yeah.. was it refrigerated all the way from source to you? will it be kept cold in your viv...
If it's contaminated with Bacteria it shouldn't be sold.. keep it in a corner.. shake the holy hey out of it before serving to 'freshen' it (read:increase the amount of dissolved gas) |

Posted - 15/08/2013 : 09:19:21 Tap water. I'm not 100% sure about bottled, mainly because it goes through purification. |

Posted - 14/08/2013 : 23:49:44 it's the quality of the water in my area, it's not great. i live in a village in Lincolnshire and there are days when you can't see through a glass of the stuff it's so cloudy. i wouldn't give it to my dog |

Posted - 14/08/2013 : 23:36:33 I'm with Lee, a lot of us use tap water though with no problems. If you are worried about fluorine content of water you can let it stand over night once you take it from the tap before using it! |

Posted - 14/08/2013 : 22:48:13 I would say keep the bottle in the fridge. I just use tap water though. |
