Okay, seeing as to how I'm a complete <insert some swearword to describe someone utterly stupid> and accidentally left one of my vivs opened slightly for the second time, allowing my yearlings to get out, I'm looking for some way to alert me if the sliding door's left ajar. Does anyone know if such a system exists for vivs? I've already seen a couple of these systems for fridges, but I'm not sure those would work as my viv closes in a different way (sliding doors). Any advice is welcome!

I'm currently still in the process of turning the room upside down - sadly, this is the room where we store most of our stuff, so they could be practically anywhere. I'm lucky enough to have found one already - two to go...

Any flaming about leaving the door open is very welcome, cause I feel really, really, really stupid right now :(

Yea, I'll keep on checking them closely! Still looking for systems but I haven't found one to my liking yet. Not giving up though :)

Good luck in finding the remaining escapees.

The fridge alarm option with time delay looks good.

Still only up to two, so I'm sleeping in the attic today (the room the snakes are in). Got my traps set... fingers crossed.

Oh no! Great that you've found two, good luck getting the last one!

Hi,

Here's a link for you to take a look at. http://www.fridge-freezer-alarm.co.uk/

You could modify the unit and get a magnetic strip either end of the glass

u could do it with one of them fridge alarms but ud need to modify it and add lots of switchs in series for each end of the vivs

I know what you mean. I'm sure you'll find something that can do the job. Good luck finding the snakes
