I am setting up my habitat for my little hatchling, lollipop, for when I bring her (unsexed as yet) home in 3 weeks time. My RUB/faun is plastic and measures 32cm long, 20cm wide and 17cm high. I have attatched a 4" x 5" heat mat to the underside of the faun and connected it to the stat. The stat and temp probe are banded together and sitting inside the hide above the heat mat.
My thermometer reads 26.5c when the stat switches the mat on and 28.5 when the stat switches off, the temp then carries on rising to just under 30 before dropping again.
Is this ok? or do i need to turn my stat up a little more?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this will be my first corn and I want to make sure things are right before I bring her home.
ps there isn't any substrate in the faun as yet - not sure if that will make a difference.
Thanks
