So it's actually been WARM in Scotland for a change  loving it, but a tad concerned about the snakes!
The cool side is recording temps of around 24 - 26 degrees. Any idea how to keep temps down? Will they be ok in this heat? The hot end is as usual 28/29 degrees.
I've had windows open, curtains shut etc, but the house is still toasty!! |

They haven't been in thier water bowls, Oscar sometimes goes through it but hasn't settled in there, but that's pretty normal for him. The bowl is big enough he could if he felt he needed to though, as is Emmy's.
Red, found Oscar in his hot hide yesterday haha, put my mind at rest a bit! |

I wouldn't worry to much, corns experience temperatures a lot warmer than this in the natural habitat and will bask in the sun so I have been told by someone who lives in the US and often sees them. I am sure your temps drop at night anyway. Mine don't seem at all bothered by this warm spell, they still favour their heat mats. |

When it gets really bad here I put bottles of ICE on top of my tanks on the cool side.
it's lots of work to keep shuttling bottles back and forth (I use old soda bottles so I have a few) but it'll drop my cool side temps 2 3 degrees...
Dunno how well it would work with a viv... |

I think 24-26 degrees in the cool end is fine, so long as they have plenty of drinking water; the region they come from in the wild can get much hotter that 24deg.
Are their water-bowls big enough for them to get into? If they start spending prolonged amounts of time in there I hear it can be a sign that they're feeling too hot. If you were worried I guess you could try putting a damp flannel/wad of kitchen roll in the cool hides to let evaporation keep them cool, though this might raise the humidity quite a bit... |

some ice cubes in the water bowl maybe, it's not too warm though yet in the cool end. |
