My snake is almost 2 now and I still don't know if it is a male or female. I think it is female due to the size of her and length of tail and therefore refer to her as "her" and "she" but would really like to find out for sure. I've heard that you can find out in pet shops or vets but does anyone have any idea how much it costs roughly?? I also live in Bath and don't know of anywhere that will do this for me so wondering if anyone else lives near me and has done this? Any info would be much appreciated!!

Tbh unless your planning on breeding I have the same opinion as Kellog. But most reptile shops will do this free of charge. |

It's very unreliable working out a snake's sex from its size and length of tail, especially if you don't have a snake of the opposite sex and the same age to compare it to. You can get your snake probed in some pet shops, reptile shops and at certain vets. I think some Pets at Home vets do it, but it's worth ringing round to find out. I think some pet shops and reptile shops may do it for free, whereas you would have to pay to have it done at a vets.
Personally I haven't chosen to have mine sexed. I never plan to breed so don't need to know and haven't wanted to put them through the stress of the travel and the procedure itself. Also probing isn't 100% accurate. The one snake that I did get probed, because I had taken it into our nearest reptile shop as it had a lump, I was told was a male and a couple of months later SHE laid eggs  !!

Well I'm in Trowbridge, which isn't far, I took my Sonny to Garston vets in Trow. it cost me around £15 to get him probed, but i'm sure if you went to a reptile specialist it would be cheaper or even free, theres DPS exotics shop in warminster who might be able to help |
