Posted - 09/06/2013 : 16:41:40 Have finally got my Vivexotic viv built BUT I've managed to get the glass onto the runners but it's so tight that I need a lever to move it. When I move it the top runner comes down a little, it just doesn't seem to fit. I have the top runner at the top and the bottom one at the bottom. The bottom runner fits tight onto the 'wooden' bit but the top one falls off unless it's held. HELP! Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong? Thanks in advance. |

Posted - 09/06/2013 : 18:00:07 Hmm - do you have anything on top of the viv which could be causing the middle of the top to bow then? That would also cause a problem. If not, I'm out of suggestions lol! |

Posted - 09/06/2013 : 17:53:02 Thanks smart bunny. It's 36" so the glass can only go in one way. I think that it may be the top runner at fault as it was VERY difficult to get it inserted into it whilst the bottom one was fine. Begining to wish I'd got one from ebay ready built!! |

Posted - 09/06/2013 : 17:38:08 What size is it? Just wondering because if it's a 2ft viv I have one and the doors are almost square but not quite, so one way one fits but is very tight but the other doesn't, and the other way they both fit lol! So try rotating the glass by 90 degrees (of course if it's a bigger viv then the glass direction would be obvious :P) If the runner keeps falling down then just stick it up eg with some sealant (assuming snakey is not in the viv, otherwise you'll have to use something else that doesn't cause fumes - hot glue gun maybe?) |

Posted - 09/06/2013 : 17:32:07 Just re-read LittleMick's post about building a viv for an adult snake - all in order so far as that goes. Still don't know why the glass won't slide, certainly, if Kitty manages to escape (when I can get into it!)then I shall be well impressed! I've probably done something really stupid! |
