When i go to the pet shop i might buy a few pinkies and one small fuzzy to try him on because if he leaves it i know its too big, but hes greedy so will probly eat it no problem :)

You could try him on fuzzies, as he's been on double pinkies for a while. The total weight of the double pinkies is probably more than the weight of a single fuzzie, so he should handle it fine.

Razee is right, of course . The indicator is whether there is a 'bump' after he's eaten. It's quite good to do a few feeds of double pinkies before moving on to the fuzzies, just to prepare him for it.

Have a look at A VERY ROUGH guide to feeding ....it gives you some idea about what to do, although its more down to common sense and you knowing your snake. You can see from the table that there is quite a size difference within each prey item. I always go by weight rather than what the prey actually is for one of my snakes, who is a bit of a fussy feeder.

From what I've heard, they REALLY start growing once you move them up from the pinkies, which will be great for Cyrus....and you .

When you feed him two pinkies, and they don't leave a bump anymore. With the size difference - it depends, how big your pinkies are. There's a big difference betwen a newborn pink, and a couple of days old pinkie, some can be quite chunky, and almost fuzzies already. I was lucky enough tp be able to choose, so I fed 1 large pinkie and one small one, and then, next time fed the smallest fuzzy, I could find, no probs.

How would i know when Cyrus is ready for fuzzies? And is there much of a size difference between pinkies and fuzzies

Hes doing great had his dinner again today following the munsen diet insted of them maintence diets that pet shops put them on he loves it as he gets fed sooner but once hes onto fuzzies which could be sooner than i thought ill lengthen the time between feeds havent weighed him in a few weeks but measured his shed skin he is around 16-17 inch mark :) and he looks in superb condition :)

That is great Luke, am thrilled to hear it. I bet he looks fantastic now. Glad you have to put up with trashed vivs too!

Cyrus will be feeling so much more comfy now too. If you want me to change your banner sig, send me a pic of him looking all shiny and new

I'm really pleased Luke . Not easy to get the shed skin out when they wrap it round every little thing in their faun/viv .

That's great to hear Lee. Well done for checking the eye caps and tail tip. It can take a fair bit of rubbing for them to loosen it. We're there many tears in it?
