Just curious as little dime is an avid striker but still on pinkys so no coiling whereas my Brb who is also a cb12 yet a fair bit bigger is a super strike, coil/ constrictor! Just me being a curious noob! :) |

Posted - 07/03/2013 : 18:37:55 Trevor has never constricted, he just takes the mouse very gently it's so cute, but he will very occasionly strike usually only on his first feed after a shed though. My royal does everytime...usually strikes at me first |

Posted - 07/03/2013 : 17:59:29 I got Kali as an adult so I don't know what she was like when young but she strikes and constricts so hard she pops or snaps mice backs... yeugh.
Apollo was the gentlest feeder until he was about a year and a half. Now he constricts every time. None of my four 2012s ever constrict but they all strike from time to time I think some of them will start constricting when the food items get bigger, that's what Apollo did. As soon as he went onto smalls he started constricting every time. |

Posted - 07/03/2013 : 17:32:35 My female will not strike and constrict unless it's a fresh killed mouse. My male will strike and constrict just about every time they get fed. Both of them are adults. Sakana has only ever struck once when younger and it ended badly so she never struck again until I fed fresh killed. Cereus apparently has never struck. |

Posted - 07/03/2013 : 10:40:21 Some of mine did strike and constrict from hatchies and some never do. I've got one who is so gentle. He takes the mouse so carefully that he almost drops it! |

Posted - 07/03/2013 : 09:11:10 I think this is something particular of each snake. My Didi has been strinking since I got her, she was 8 months old. Once she was moved to mediums, she started constricting too! But she does not constrict with the same vigour from one feed to the other... |

Posted - 07/03/2013 : 07:16:06 They don't always, and if they do it happens different times. Ember was about 4 months when we got her, and stuck and coiled from about her 3rd feed with us - but doesn't always. Corno is 18 months and has never coiled or struck. |

Posted - 07/03/2013 : 07:06:17 Rosie, aCB12 started striking after I had her for a month or so. She started trying to coil when she was moved up to fluffs. Not quite there yet though. |
