Firstly .... yyyeaaaaahhhhhhhhh
After 3 weeks of Ace not talking to me he's decided to grace me with better temper!
Lifted him today and he didnt strike.
Moved him up to a small mouse on Sunday so maybe he was just hungrier than usual the past few weeks!
Was in the pet shop last week and saw new baby snakes cant believe my wee monster was ever that tiny!
Which brings me to the cocnut!
Ace has always had 2 coconut hides and as such they have wee holes in the top.
His favourite trick is when he's put back in his tank is to go through one of the larger holes in curl himself in ............. till today ...........
He couldnt get himself through.
Half in ....... Half out ...........
Then pokes his head out his hide .......
Has this happened to anyone else???
I tipped his hid over so he could pull him self right through and will go and but a new hide today.
Just struck me as a bit mental.
But am still on cloud 9 he's talking to me again!
God how sad am i
lmao

Basil did the same, got stuck half way through, came out ok though without any damage. I've now got the the holes bunged up with some rolled up card. You'd think they know how wide they are!

Basil is getting a bit big for his coconuts which is a shame, they are his favourites. I've used an exoterra cave before but he just ignores it and always prefers the coconut no matter what end of the tank it is. Will have to look for some giant ones!

Glad he's in a good mood I have coconut hides for my 2012s, two of them have holes in which I intend to block up when my snakes are too big to comfortably fit through anymore, just in case they were to get stuck.

It's a good idea to keep an eye on anything they an squeeze into.
It doesn't take long to outgrow things and get stuck, especially when they've just fed and are bumpy.

So glad he's not playing you up any more! A lot of people warn about snakes getting stuck in the holes in coconuts when they get too big - you could just bung up the holes securely?
