Hi I know it's quite norm for snakes to refuse food. It's eaten once in about 20 days, not putting on weight (obviously) and is not active. Always hiding in hide. We've had it for these 20 days. Is it a case of let it be, should it still be active even tho not eating. Just worrying a bit.

Thank u

Excellent news! Just to add to gmac's " toothbrush method " ( ohh, so tempting to comment, but mustn't :-) ) - I've heard of people putting their mobile phones onto " vibrate ", then sticking them under the feeding tub, and ringing the mobile, so that it vibrates right under where the mouse is...

Good news! Whatever it takes to get him feeding as long as it works

That's fantastic news. So pleased for you Looks like you came up with a new method for people to try for nonfeeding snakes too

Oooh so that's a new one to suggest to others - tub the snake and put on the washing machine lol!! Glad he ate for you :D

That's great news. Much nicer than braining a mouse!!!
Maybe you have a wee snakie that enjoys a ride.
And...your setup sounds fine.

Good luck with the drive, forgot to add before that dipping it in marmite can help as well, just dip the head in a bit and try that, setup sounds fine to me though.

Temps sound fine, the odd spike isn't going to harm them. How do you feed the snake? In the faun, out of?

Also try putting the snake and food into a small tub, and put the tub in a cupboard for a few hours. This works quite well...

Temps sound just a tiny bit warm for my liking, I tend to keep them around 28-29 but other people may do differently. Good luck with the drive. Fingers crossed he will do the disappearing pinkie act

Hi snake is a large flat faunarium, there are 3 hides (warm, mid and cool) on aspen. I have a heat mat under faunarium plugged into thermostat. The thermostat probe and digital thermometer I attached via elastic band and placed under edge of hot cave. Temps recorded are 28.4- 29.8 occasionally hitting 30.1 is this all ok

Can you tell us about your setup and the temperatures, how you are monitoring them etc? If it's home is not quite right it can stop a snake feeding.

Hi, corns arent very active to be honest, there nocternal and will hide most of the day. As for the feeding hatchling corns are notorius for not feeding! Fussy buggers. Have you tried braining the pinky? Theres other techniques such as boiling it, scenting it wiv a a chick, leaving it in the viv overnight, try feeding just the head or failing all these put the snake and pinky in a tub together, cover it so its dark and take it for a drive. Dont worry too much, snakes can go longer than 20 days without a meal, worst case scenario im sure theres plenty of people on here who could give you a helping hand force feeding. Hope this helps and good luck!
