Is it ok for them to have home-made ones made of salt dough or papier mache, varnished with yatch varnish? Have any of you made them using either of these? What were the results like? All input and opinions welcome!

Posted - 09/02/2013 : 04:01:50 I used the salt dough and the yaught varnish, the dough was perfect, well, apart from me being uselss, trying to make something zero talent lol i am just waiting for stonger magnets to come then will embarass my self by posting the result! mine is a feeding shelf for crestie and i also used acrylic paint I saw online that the dough could be put in microwave, but even at a low temp, will kinda rise and bubble a bit so really dont advise that, either stick with oven on low so wont crack or will take ages but will go hard on its own |
