Over the next couple of weeks I'll be kitting out the new viv, some of you may have read my thread about heat bulbs or ceramics. Well I'm still undecided on which to go for so thought I'd start a poll to find out what you all use and possibly why u

Heat mats and stats for me as well Just seems like a lot less of a kerfuffle than messing about with bulbs and guards, plus the stats are cheaper too  |

Heat mat and stat - much easier for me than faffing about with attaching light fittings and bulb guards, and worrying about snake getting inside the guard etc! |

Heat mat with stat, constant heat ranging from 25 to 26. |

Heat mat and stat for corns and milk.
Ceramic (guarded) and pulse stat for royals and boa.
Heat mat and stat plus light bulb (guarded) and dimming stat for hoggie.
If I only had the one snake then I would probably use a ceramic no matter what species the snake was. Using ceramics in viv stacks has its problems though so stick with mats in the stacks. |

Heat mats (statted)- no interruptions to day/night cycle, constant temps of 26-29 degrees. Cheaper in my opinion too! |
