Hi,
I weighed Clark (6 months old) before he last feed 6 days ago and he was 20g, first of all, is that roughly the average weight for a snake that old, anyway I weighed him today before I fed him and he was 23g, is it normal to gain 3grams in such a short amount of time? He doesn't look noticeably bigger, it's because my friends snake has put on 5grams in two months! Is it a case of one of our weighing scales may be incorrect?

His weight sounds fine. I've got 3 2012 hatchlings, all hatched around june/july, and their weights are 23g, 37g, and 56g.
His weight will shoot up when he goes onto fuzzies! |

As others have said, weight isn't important as long as the snake is healthy. If it's eating pooping and shedding then that's the weight the snake is meant to be. Some grow faster than others naturally, even if they are being fed the same thing, some just grow slowly for a while then suddenly have a growth spurt.
20g isn't abnormal for a 6 month old snake, neither is putting on 3g that fast, so don't worry about it  |

Personally I've never worried about weights.
As long as my snakes are feeding, pooing, shedding and in good general health then I'm happy.
I know all my pets very well and would soon notice if something wasn't right!
I've always relied on my own gut instinct and it's always served me well. |

Like every one has said weights vary with each individual, I found that both of mine did show bigger increase once they moved up on to fuzzies and 8 is grwoing like a weed now he's no smalls! As for when to move up to fuzzies, he he's managed 3 pinks he will be able to take a fuzz so I just start feeding fuzzies |

Don't worry about weight, its not a biggy. If everyone starts worrying about weight as some sort of competition or that there is a right/wrong then it's wrong. So long as your feeding routine is correct and your snake isn't loosing weight it's fine. |

I'd move him onto fuzzies now and you'll soon see a difference in his weight. One fuzzy has more nutrition in it than 3 pinkies My little Emrys is 6 months old and only weighs 15g, but managing fuzzies fine |

At 6 months Corno was 20g and Ember was 18g... which is funny because I have always said how much smaller Ember has always been than Corno lol! 
(Although to be fair at a year Corno was 104g and Ember was only 56g  ) |

Clark eats fine every 6 days since the start of December I've had him and he hasn't ever refused a meal, I fed him a small fuzzie about two weeks ago and I've just fed him 3 small pinkies since then, he has no trouble with them either, when would you recommend moving up to fuzzies? |

The weight can wary so much, depending on how big they were at hatching, did they eat, were they fed well, or kept on maintenance diet by a dealer... I got both of mine at roughly 6 months. Poor Bazilishka ( she came from a garden center )was less than 13 g, and Twiddler 18 g.
They seem to put weight on in leaps and bounds. I used to weigh Baz on laboratory scales ( extremely precise ), always on empty tummy, before feeding, and he could go on putting on just 0.5 g in 2 weeks, then, suddenly, it'd be 3 g in 2 weeks.
I found that pinkies can be extremely variable, some are just skin and bone, some nice and chunky, almost fuzzies, and that makes a huge difference. Once you are on fuzzies, they start putting on weight slightly better.
But as Georgina said, they are all different. Genetics play role, too, there are some corn snakes from certain areas, that always stay small, and some, that can grow huge. The genes are probably all mixed up by now, but you never know... :-) |

Sounds a tad small but they are all different. Weight gain also varies. What is your feed regime ? |
