Posted - 16/01/2013 : 19:34:56 I have a very thin layer of aspen over the heat mat. My snake does move the aspen around in her warm hide and lays directly on the mat (has a stat controlling heat so no issues)
On the cool side the aspen is much thicker and my snake likes to burrow into it. |

Posted - 16/01/2013 : 18:01:32 thankyou i've only kept big snakes before pythons / boa's on ceramics from above heating! this will be my first heat mat and stat setup in a viv. |

Posted - 16/01/2013 : 16:43:26 just will a thin layer will do. as long as your mat is at the right temp it doesn't matter if your snake comes in direct contact with it. |
