I have just bought my first corn snake she is 3 years old and roughly 3feet, the previouus owner said she isnt keen on been handeled atm, my question is. if she does strike me do i need any anti-biotics, i know i had a dog bite a few years back and needed a tetanus jab, but that was because i went 2 A&E obv wont probs need a trip 2 A&E off a corn snake bite. |

I havnt been bited by a snake it was a hypothetical question and i dont think i have any photos of the dog bite that i went to A&E for. But it was a German Shepard to the back of the tigh if that helps. |

Posted - 11/01/2013 : 16:31:46 Some bites can turn up a bit raised - maybe a slight reaction to the saliva? I wouldnt worry about jabs or antibiotics or anything though; most of mine have had a go at me some time or another and i'm still here |

Posted - 11/01/2013 : 11:05:15 I just give any nips a wash under the tap then a dab with anti-septic lotion such as Savlon or Dettol. A Corn 'bite' does little more than break the skin. |
