Posted - 25/12/2012 : 09:13:57 Hi, I already have a suitable tub and the moss put away ready for shedding time, he isn't even showing signs yet though, but I was just wondering in my faunarium (medium flat exo terra) when he is ready and I put the humid hide in shall I remove his warm and cool hides and just keep the humid hide in till he has finished shedding. If I put it in with both his normal hides in knowing snakey he won't bother using humid hide lol

Posted - 25/12/2012 : 11:49:08 Again I wouldn't spray just leave him to it. If he does have a bad shed it is easily sorted out after so don't panic about it, there are lots of threads on here telling you what to do after a bad shed. Good to see you are prepared and have obviously been reading up prior to getting your little one. |

Posted - 25/12/2012 : 11:21:24 Yeah only got him on Saturday. Suppose it does make sense to see how his shed gets on first like you said. I'll do that then. When it's time shall I lightly spray his fuan or shall I just let him get on with it and see how it goes? Hopefully he'll shed alright. Seems a happy little snakey :) using both of his hides and coming out of them when it starts to get dark in my room to roam his faun :) can't wait to give him his first feed with me. |

Posted - 25/12/2012 : 10:31:16 Personally I would not use a humid hide yet. If I remember you have only just got him and he hasn't shed with you yet and unless you have a bad shed I wouldn't use the moss. All of mine shed fine without moss and I have never had to use it. I would just wait and see how the first one/two goes (sometimes the first shed with you may not be great due to the stress of moving home) and take it from there. |

Posted - 25/12/2012 : 09:17:54 Or shall I just remove one hide so he still has a dry place to go into? If so which hide shall I remove? |
