Posted - 05/12/2012 : 17:12:13 Hi everyone, Sorry if this is a bit of a silly question but I really am clueless at the minute! I've just bought a VivExotic L36 from a friend and brought it home. I know I need to seal the edges with aquarium sealant to make sure there's no escapes, but I really don't know what else to do. Where do I put the heat mat? How many hides shall I put in? Is there a guide or something on here I've just been too blind to find?! Any help at all will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

Posted - 09/12/2012 : 19:11:55 Thanks everyone. I'm going some time during the week to pick up more decorations so I can start setting it all up for her :)! Excited! |

Posted - 06/12/2012 : 17:29:57 Personally I wouldn't have a problem putting her into it now, I think she's big enough to be okay (she'll let you know if she isn't). Just put as much decoration in as possible so there are loads of places to hide and it doesn't feel so open and block up all the gaps like you said. I even used paper binder spine things to sort out the gap between the panes of glass in my viv because I was so paranoid Apollo would squeeze out.
If you do move her up to it, just keep an eye on her behaviour. If she stops eating or starts behaving abnormally it could be stress related so you may need to move her down in size again until she is bigger. I think it depends on the snake really. |

Posted - 06/12/2012 : 02:57:42 Oh so you think she'd be okay going in now? Awesome.
I'll work on making sure there's lots of hidey places and cover, and definitely no gaps! |

Posted - 05/12/2012 : 22:13:39 I moved Apollo into his lx36 when he was just over 2 foot long. I just put lots of fake plants in so that he had lots of places to hide and it didn't seem too open. He's been in there for a month and a halfish now and he doesn't seem bothered by the space. He's explored it a bit, keeps knocking one of the plants over and still eating normally, seems just like his normal self. |

At what size do you reckon I should move snakey into the larger viv?

Posted - 05/12/2012 : 17:19:11 I think it's too small for the L36 but I'm not 100% sure. It's around 2 and a half feet long. I bought the viv now for when it's bigger, but my friend was selling it now at a low price to get rid so I thought I'd start sorting it now :)! |
