Posted - 20/11/2012 : 10:08:43 Having a good look at Voldemort last night I was wondering when he'll be fully grown? He's 2yrs & 3 months old, 42" long and weighs 497g. He was on a large mouse every 7 days, but now on the same every 10 days as he's very lazy and I'm worried about him getting fat .He's outgrowing his current viv (30x15x15 ), and as we don't have space for a longer viv I'm thinking of having a deeper one built for him maybe 32x22" or 34x20"? Just wondering at what point he'll stop getting longer so I know the next viv will not be outgrown too |

Posted - 20/11/2012 : 19:11:46 I made that mistake last time, and my 15yr old Son and I had a hell of a time getting it up the stairs to Niamh's room I'll be sure to ask for it to be taken upstairs for me this time |

Thank you both. Red I plan to put the new viv on top of the viv stack that Terry built, then get a new stack when the other 2 grow a bit. I don't think we'd get a triple stack up the stairs lol. At least I can stop worrying about the size now Hopefully he won't grow as big as Sidney
You'll have to say to Terry that you want the new stack delivered to the room of your choice. They are lovely vivs that Terry makes but by god they are heavy lol. My youngest is busy drawing plans up for a viv he wants Terry to make for his royal. Trouble is its going to have to go up the stairs as Nigel lives in his bedroom. Might ask Terry if he could just pop it up stairs for me. |

Posted - 20/11/2012 : 11:47:21 They don't stop growing but the growth rate slows down a lot compared to the early few years. I've got a 3 year old who still sheds on a regular basis (good indicator they're still growing well) and he's currently coming up for the 5' mark! He's a big boy. I'm sure I read somewhere that they normally start to slow down when they hit 3 years old. My Sidney didn't read the same information!!! |

Posted - 20/11/2012 : 10:27:00 I don't think they ever stop growing. He will shed less frequently as he gets older. My older corns only shed 3 or 4 times a year. Either of the sizes you suggested would be fine, after all a lot of people house adult corns in RUBS that are 24" x 14.5". All of my corns vivs are 36" x 18" giving the same floor space as your suggested sizes :) |
