Posted - 14/11/2012 : 22:50:02 Hi guys I tried to use the search thing but it didn't work for some reason so I'm just going to ask. I know this question has probably been asked before a million times so I'm sorry, but Trevor has been on smalls for a awhile now and it's got to the point where I need to buy some more, but I think he might need to move to mediums. He weighs 122g, and is there much of a difference between smalls and mediums? I would upload a recent pic of him eating a small for your judgement but my computer is broken so I can't. Thankyooouuu |

Posted - 16/11/2012 : 15:10:36 I've always fed mine 2 of a size before moving up to the next. It's more food quantity wise, but not as physically big individually as the size they'll be moving up to. Usually, I feed them double feeds 3 times before moving them up. But it all depends on the individual snake. Some are long and skinny, and take two of a smaller size better, and some are shorter but wider, and are able to take a single of a bigger size :) |

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 23:10:26 The general 'rule' is to feed a mouse that's 1.5 times the size of the widest part of the snake. If the normal prey still leaves a noticeable bump then it's too soon to move up. You could try feeding 2 of his normal meal, and if he keeps them down and has no problems, then try the next size up. |
