Hello,
George is growing fast and is only 3 months old and eating fluffs (not sure if this is average). But I think this is not filling him and he may need to go to the next size?
What is the next size? Does this sound like a good plan?

Both Frank and Keith moved to fluffs when they were 3 months old and weighing 15g and 16g. They were moved up to hoppers when they were 6 months old and weighing 41g and 39g. They then went to double hoppers at around 8 months old and weighing around the 60g mark before moving straight to medium mice at 9 months old. |

His first shed was 14/08/12 (with breeder), he has had two sheds with me since. He has had 5 Fluffs and one Fluff and Pinky his first fluff was the 13/10/12.

As long as your snakes eats, poos and sheds ok and isn't regurging his meal then don't worry. They are no different to any other living creature, in that, they all grow at different rates. Your snake sounds like one of mine....a greedy, hungry, fast growing little devil!! Keep up the good work.... |

As long as George is happy, you haven't done anything wrong. All snakes grow at different rates and are different shapes too. A long, thin snake may would find it nearly impossible to manage a fluff whereas a chunkier corn of the same weight may have no problem.
Personally I would keep with fluffs until there isn't much of a bulge, then depending on what you are able to get hold of for the next size, try either fuzzy and pinky or double fuzz before going up to smalls. Or if you can get hoppers, you could go from fluffs to hoppers.
He might be 3 months old, snakes growth rates can vary a huge amount. If he hatched in August he may have had two feeds and one shed by September if he fed right after his first shed, which some do. What makes you question his age? Is it his size? Aphrodite, my largest hatchie was 16g at 3 months old, she's a very quick grower too.

Thanks Moppet. Yes there is a slight lump (so I guess keep at the fluffs until it disappears (this happened really quick with the pinkies?) I was getting really stressed out thinking I'm doing something wrong and tried the Fluffs and he has so far had no problem.
I'm not sure if I have the age right though. I bought him private in September and the sheet they gave me only had two feeds and one shed. Apparently they were born in August |

17g seems quite little to me to be on fluffs, never mind to consider going up a size... Aphro, my biggest baby is 22g and is still eating large pinkies (2 of them). Although I do tend to be a little overly cautious with my feed sizes.

if your snake hasnt regurged i guess he can handle it....did you try feeding him 2 pinkies or just go straight for fluffs?
umm pabs we moved up when he was about 6 months and george around 7, however we may just being over cautious |

i guess every snake is different, but 3 months seems a lil young to be eating fluffs, i am only saying this in my opinion as i have a 9 month old corn and he has only just moved up to bigger mice |
