Hello,

I'm popping down dunelm today as I've heard from alot of people here that that's the place for artificial plants.

Just out of interest how is the best way to secure artificial plants into the Viv, so that they look real?

Plaster cine can give of fumes when heated so be carful. I use a hit glue gun as it can be easily removed. I don't like push pins as when your snake climbs it could unpin them and the injur them selves. Polystyrene is another option x

Just used kids plastercine only 97p in Tesco. Thanks for the heads up.

Hard to say if it's the same stuff... If I had to bet Id say it likely is...

What about Salt dough? It passes the edibility test and if properly sealed will last near forever.

Was thinking of plastercine ? Would this be safe inside the viv?

Are these the same as the ones you sent a link about?
I have removed them, until I hear your thoughts.

Thank you!

Yes he is already exploring and seem to have found his preferred spots. I'm really happy with it. Massive difference from what it started. Only part I dread is cleaning. Mind it's only a LX 24 ill have something to moan about when I get his bigger vivarium.

Thank you for the lovely comments. Nope the only problem now is finding George at all. I know he wont be behind the background but he's very good at hiding lol

thats what am planing on doing with Jinxs viv, good to know it works better removing the pad before gluing!

The viv is looking fab!

Looking good. George won't have time to miss being able to get behind the background with all the new things to explore!

I did not use any glue or Push Pins. I just used Styrofoam blocks used by florists and put a heavy log on top of it. I then wrapped some Ivy around the rope.

Here's my finished project. Finally Complete. Although missing a hide that is drying

p.s - I did buy the push pins like you said, so thank you for the advice.

i've glued 8's ivy in with glue gun although i think that may have been a mistake from a cleaning point of view!! with Jinxs i think i will glue in some hooks to hang his ivy off.

I haven't done this yet but I'm planning on using cup-hooks and draping them across those - I think that it'll be quite sturdy. Mind you, the plants I'm planning on getting are from dunelm and are a loop.

Brilliant, I'll get some push pins. Now the problem of finding them lol.
