Posted - 12/10/2012 : 19:46:00 I am trying to sort everything I need to move Martha up to a 3ft vivarium. Have decided on the following: http://www.reptilecentre.com/vivexotic-tobacco-walnut-lx36-vivarium-915x375x405mm_p4022377.htm
Following advice on here I think I will stick with a heat mat for heating. However I am thinking it will be rather dark so was thinking of getting a light. I have looked in various online reptile shops and have seen lots of UV lighting tubes (are these suitable??) but cannot seem to find any UV light holders. I'm probably just being stupid but can anyone help?? |

Posted - 22/10/2012 : 17:18:34 Hello Auld, I had a reply today apologizing for the mishap with the wiring and they told me they will ship me a bag of brackets today. good news all round! |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 19:04:04 They are just white. would you all like pics of them to see what you get all together for your money? |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 18:00:04 Just had a look at these eBay dioder lights and I don't think they are the same as the Ikea ones as the eBay advert states the light colour is white and the Ikea ones have multi-coloured LEDs. As you have just got a set are they multi-coloured or just white? |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 14:16:21 I had a double strip fitted at one point then changed it to the three but was being lazy about fitting the other clips. As always, better to do the job properly from the start.
Let us know what they say about the number of clips per set. |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 13:58:33 I just took your advice and contacted them to see if i can get lucky with a free set of brackets, Fingers crossed. I was worried that one bracket setup might end up the same as yours did lol. |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 13:52:35 suggest you still contact them even though you have fixed the wiring. You won't be entitled to a replacement but a polite message might win you some brownie points. Tell them about the 'missing' brackets and could you ask them if there is supposed to be 2 per strip for the other strip sets. (They also do a 6 strip set.) Hopefully you can cash in the brownie points for extra clips. I suspect that there has probably been a packing error.
You really need the 2 clips per strip. I had a set fitted temporarily with single clips and my Rat Snake managed to haul the lot down with an almighty clatter. It did nothing for the pulse rate. |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 13:27:23 I bought the one from Ebay in the end. I messaged them regarding the wiring issue but after two hours no reply so just rewired it myself easy enough. They should of really sent me two brackets per Strip as that is even how they show you in the leaflet provided to set them up (2 brackets per strip) yet only provide 4 brackets for 4 strip lights. |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 13:24:40 Was this the IKEA Ledberg or the e-Bay Dioder? With the Ledberg there should be a sealed bag with 6 brackets and screws, 2 per strip. I suggest you contact the store and make a complaint about having to do repairs and ask for replacements to be sent out. |

Posted - 20/10/2012 : 13:06:16 Auld i received the Strip light i ordered earlier so far id say its incredible value for money only faults for me was one bracket per strip when i feel they could of provided two and the wire had come loose from the driver so i had to fix that they are working now and seem like they will be nice when in my viv will take pictures when done to show what they look like. |

Loved that strip lighting in the ikea link, wondering if you know where i can get something like that but shorter? I am only buying a 24" viv lol [/quote
The £11.00 strip will fit perfect in 24" viv. I have one in mine |

Posted - 19/10/2012 : 02:50:55 Well you might just have persuaded me to get a set of them as a spare. I already have 6 set ups with Ledbergs but you never know what might turn up in the future. |

Posted - 19/10/2012 : 02:22:47 I will pretend like i knew that and just wanted to share the link lol. Thanks Auld I will definitely give them a try. |

Posted - 19/10/2012 : 01:56:16 Good find. That's £5 cheaper than from IKEA.
The Ledberg uses the same strip set of 3 and you can use 1,2 or 3 strips to fit the viv. So you could use 2 strips (21") in the 24".
Your choice. You could use the Dioder split between 2 vivs when you get more. |

do you think these would work perfect in a lx24? was going to have 2 of them making up the full length and one either side of the viv.. opinions? |

They give out virtually no heat so LED's do not need to be guarded. Here's a pic of one of mine climbing on the LED's

Posted - 18/10/2012 : 16:59:57 Personally, when I move my little guy up to his bigboy viv, I'm going to be providing a uv gradient for him. I believe that it can be benficial to all animals to have uv light exposure. A bit more expensive but i reckon its a good idea. :) |
