Posted - 27/10/2012 : 20:50:00 My friends Corn didn't eat for over 10 months, he was fairly underweight but then he just decided to eat one day. Maybe not be the best suggestion or option but feeding live could work? Get the instinct going and it won't be able to stop itself, just a suggestion. |

Posted - 25/10/2012 : 08:53:56 Have you taken him to a reptile vet? He might be ill... Keeping track of his weight is a good idea and try to keep handling to a minimum and only try to feed every 10 or so days I'd say.
Hope he is ok, try not to worry too much, snakes can go a long time without eating, but definitely book an appointment with a vet. |

That way you can track any weight loss.
Did you switch suppliers for your mice? |

Posted - 12/10/2012 : 22:49:12 right, just given him a bath, got a flannel with washing up liquid to aid the shed
all has now come off,
the tail part seemed like about 3 sheds worth, more after more
the middle and top half were a bit harder, some of the scales of the shed looked really taty.
was a bit rough in places with him but really felt like it all had to come off
fair play to Garfield he could have easily stuck out at me but not a twitch, even when i was rubbing up round his neck
i will leave him now until tuesday and try and feed him
thanks everyone, big help |

Posted - 12/10/2012 : 21:03:44 I would get the skin off him, leave him alone just going in to change water and then try feeding in a week's time in the evening in the viv. If he doesn't eat it straight away leave it in there for the night. |

Posted - 12/10/2012 : 20:59:51 There is only one little speaker there but I can get rid of that. Yes he has always eaten with me but not for the last month. The speaker has always been there too.
Should I get him in the bath first and try and get his skin off cos it's been on him for a good month or so. Could coincide with him not eating ???? |

Posted - 12/10/2012 : 19:52:12 Is that a stereo I see? Is he being exposed to music or TV sounds?
ETA: Has he ever eaten with you or was his last feed before you got him?
He might find it very hard to relax if he's constantly being exposed to vibrations he's not used to and until he relaxes he's not going to eat.

I think that is your answer. Leave him alone for 7 days. no handling, checking or otherwise invading his space (keep his water fresh tho)
You might want to consider relocating him to a quieter part of the house or hanging a curtain in front of the viv to make it 'cozier'.
