Hey there. I've done a little looking around and am slowly discovering the various brands of chopped up virgin cardboard. I'm looking for an aspen alternative, something softer me thinks :3
I need it to be absorbent, but don't mind cleaning more due to smell, and it needs to be soft.
So far I've heard of Finacard, Ecobed, Bedmax (this is pine?!), Megazorb and Walmsley Premierbed. Anyone got experience with any of these? Recommendations/warnings?
I think I'll order the £5 sample pack from Finacard soon to test it out.

Some good ideas - I have been wondering when to move my corn from kitchen roll to bedding. She is 2 half months old and I have had her for two weeks.

I get mine from local equestrian supplies/saddlery about £7.85 for a huge sack

Ooooh I'm interested in this too. Not to keen on the aspen shavings I got.

bedmax is pine is a wood shaving bedding for horses, its quite large too so even if it wasn't made from pine dont think it would be very good, its not the most absorbant

I use Megazorb for all the snakes its fantastic

Yeah I did wonder about pine, I thought it was dangerous for reptiles. Thanks!

I've used megazorb with horses and it's quite good for them. I've not tried any of them with reptiles though. However, I would be inclined to avoid anything made with pine as it is very bad for snakes' respiratory systems.
