I have been wracking my brain trying to get one of these. Cant find one anywhere.

I have a energy bulb 15w but it's still enough heat to hurt or worse kill my corn if he decides to wrap himself on the bulb.

I have tried to self make a cage, although the holes are way to wide and he could climb in.

Anyone used any alternative ways of preventing the snake getting near the bulb ?

I'd appreciate any links or help

Have finally installed the new lighting. Looks the part I must say.
Just got to wait now until tomorrow when my stat, 3d background and dual thermometer arrives. Then I can lay some substrate for the little fella.

So exciting!!

Here's what I got so far

Thank you all for the help and advice

Done it, but don't know what to use to block holes meant for wires?

Mind you you can get kits intended for computer case builders to use.

But if you're gonna spend the money Ikea is easier (probably).

Good idea. Although tbh I have already managed to electrocuted self yesterday adding a bulb into the tank. The flex was still plugged into the mains which I forgot to take out after testing fuse, I managed to touch exposed wire and gave myself one hell of a jolt. No idea how I got off so lightly I put it down to the plaster on my finger. Lesson learnt.

So I think I'll just save myself the hassle and get the ikea strip light.

I recommend the IKEA Ledberg strip. Around £11.
(I use and recommend them but don't receive any discount or reward although I really deserve something for all the punting I do for them. )

Brilliant idea. Will be going to ikea first thing tomorrow.

Thank you

Ps - you should contact them and start asking for commission on sales lol

I was thinking of getting hold of some kind of netting for gardens?
