he's missing.

Came back from holiday and he's not in this faun. Last seen Sat morning, i got back on Sun evening. Absolutely gutted.

Have searched everywhere in my room, the door was closed so hoping he is in there somewhere. Have left a mouse out and his faun open on the ground with heatmat etc. Have moved as much as i could off the ground and left some hidey places out for him.

He must have got out where the wires go in to the faun, even though it was taped up (no sticky sides showing, it was what i was told to do to secure it, but will be aqua sealing it tonight in the hope that if he comes back it can't happen again)

So upset

Yep my bubs :( devastated! I seen your post too, really sorry to hear that, must have been awful!

I'll be doing the same until hopefully he appears one day! Never give up hope :)

Oh no! Not Freddie! I saw your sig on another post... absolutely gutted for you!!! Can sympathise 100% after losing Bob beneath the floorboards.

We figure, we're just going to continue providing heat, water, food and hides and hopefully he will stay alive and keep on growing and just have a more private life than if we could look at him through the sides of a tub :(

Hope he turns up for you really soon!

Thanks everyone.

Isoldael that's a good idea! I'll get some matches tonight. Was going to do the flour around the water bowl thing, but will also do it where i have laminate flooring in the livingroom just to cover all bases.
Isoldael Posted - 11/09/2012 : 13:46:09
Do you have carpet, or tiles or something else? If you have carpet, try making some lines of matches perpendicular to the wall (and touching the wall). If he slithers past the wall, you'll notice that the matches are no longer in a line. On tiles or parquet and such, you might want to try making a line of flour instead. You'll see his slither patterns in that very well :) That way you'll be able to see which parts of the room he's visited, and narrow down your search area a bit.

Oh no,hope you find him soon I can imagine how you are feeling. I lost one last year,he was found within 45 minutes but I almost had a breakdown! Little sod took a dump on the carpet and was found in a bag of aspen!
Freddiesmum Posted - 10/09/2012 : 20:38:11
thanks I'll do the plastic bag thing. this is the most frustrating thing ever. so upset. currently ripping my room apart no luck so far. will put a mouse down tonight also. it's good hearing stories of people that have found their snakes gives me hope but when I get home and still no sign of him I just feel like crying! sorry bit emotional!

That's a pretty good idea.

My corn escaped only once when I accidentally left the viv unlocked. I found her underneath the viv, curled up beneath the warm end.

The temptation is to assume he's gone far but that may not be the case.
Good luck finding Freddie.

mine got out an unbelievably small gap in her viv, this has happened on more than 1 occasion. i have now changed her viv. ive found her in hifi speakers, and also in the arm of a chair. try leaving empty carrier bags on the floor also. they make quite a noise when they rustle through them. good luck in finding you snake.

Yeah am doing all i can, room will be getting turned upside down tonight. Dying to get home from work! Just glad he was there, he usually lives in the livingroom but was getting a new fireplace so was moved temporarily, think it would have been worse trying to find him in the livingroom. Oh i won't, and if on the off chance he doesn't anytime soon, i'll still be searching and putting mice down for years to come haha!

Many escapee`s turn up near their viv, keep positive and hopefully he will soon be back with you.
One of mine escaped when only a few weeks old, after turning the room upside down we found him under his terranium hanging onto the lip around the bottom next to the heat mat.
