if you wanted a glue gun, home bargans currently have some in and they aren't too expensive

Dependant on what thewood was for, decoration or structure, I would even suggest aquarium silicone. it will be strong enough to hold the woods together, but if you need to support something I am not too sure, I know there is a lot of pressure once filled in an aquarium!

Lots of people recommend hot glue guns as once cooled it is perfectly safe :)
